Salamantex launches new payment system for cryptocurrencies in Austria

With their Crypto Payment Service, the Lower Austrian IT start-up Salamantex now offers an all-in-one solution to merchants of any kind, enabling their customers to pay using cryptocurrency. After over one year of development, the first payment terminals will now be delivered to the first merchants in Austria. From idea to realization Just over one year ago, CEO René Pomassl and his six-headed team started developing the software. "For our own sake, we had the idea of creating a solution for the market in 2016," says the managing director, who has been dealing with cryptocurrencies and the underlying technology since 2012.
Meanwhile, the Salamantex team has grown to over twenty people and their product range has expanded as well. With the Crypto Payment Terminal SX1801, a complete package of software and hardware can be offered.
First roll-out in December 2018
In December 2018, around five hundred terminals with the Crypto Payment Software will be send to the first customers. Almost one hundred of these will be delivered to Austrian companies. One of the innovative pioneers is the pancho Mexican restaurant in Vienna's second district which, with the Salamantex Service, now offers an additional payment option on site. At first, payments with Bitcoin will be possible through the Salamantex terminals. Litecoin, Dash, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies will follow in the beginning of 2019. An overview of all points of acceptance can be found on the company's website from January.
The journey continues
In addition to numerous inquiries from the European area, there already are further interested parties from Asia as well as Africa. But that's not enough! The Lower Austrian start-up will also be developing a new kind of network in the coming year. The "Charry" network will make it even easier to conduct business with cryptocurrencies in the future, and that quickly and securely.
